Centennial Conference Today
The Conference Blog

Five-Star Matchups
(March 19) - It's the first weekend of spring ... the weather should be outstanding here in the Mid-Atlantic ... and we have big games dotting the Conference schedules. A huge game on the national front pits #1 Franklin & Marshall and #2 Salisbury on the Eastern Shore for the top spot in DIII women's lacrosse. A pair of unbeaten lax squads meet in Allentown as the #3 ranked Gettysburg women tangle with Muhlenberg. On the men's side, a game that will have playoff implications - even this early in the season - as undefeated Ursinus travels to F&M.

McNally Named Second-Team All-America
(March 18) - Franklin & Marshall junior F James McNally was named second-team All-America by the NABC as the organization announced its All-America teams today. He is the 13th player in Centennial Conference history to earn All-America honors from the NABC and eighth from F&M. McNally led the Diplomats in scoring (18.4) and rebounding (8.5) this season on his way to Conference Player of the Year honors.

Glasser Takes Eighth in NCAA 500 Free
(March 17) - "Washington College junior Rachel Glasser (Silver Spring, MD / Springbrook) wasted no time in picking up All-America first-team honors at the NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving Championships today in Minneapolis, MN. Glasser finished eighth in the 500 freestyle, her first of three events at the championships, in 5:03.46, after breaking her own school and conference records in a morning heat of the event. In Wednesday morning's 500 freestyle heat, Glasser broke her own school and Centennial Conference records by completing her heat in 4:57.20. She posted the sixth-fastest heat time."

Bears Continue Best Start in Program History With OT Win vs. Swarthmore
(March 17) - "Ursinus College senior midfielder Eric Farris (Pottsgrove, Pa. / Pottsgrove) scored his third goal 1:26 into the overtime as the Bears (5-0, 1-0 Centennial) won their Centennial Conference opener with a 8-7 win over Swarthmore (1-3, 0-1 Centennial) Wednesday afternoon. Farris' goal, which came in front of the cage, kept Ursinus undefeated with a 5-0 mark. That mark is the best start in the history of the program."

Women's Lacrosse Release #3
(March 15) - Franklin & Marshall junior A Meredith Lussier and McDaniel senior GK Leanne Hollinger have been named the Conference's Players of the Week. Lussier scored nine goals and added two assists in a 2-0 week for the top-ranked Diplomats. She had four goals and two assists vs. Adrian and tallied five times vs. Rowan. Hollinger (pictured) turned away 13 shots in the Green Terror's 8-7 upset of #19 Stevenson.

Men's Lacrosse Release #3
(March 15) - Franklin & Marshall freshman A Tristan Miller and Muhlenberg senior defenseman Matthew Schroeder have been named the Conference's Players of the Week. Miller (pictured) scored four goals, including the first two and the game-winner, as Franklin & Marshall upset #8 Washington and Lee, 7-5. Schroeder led a defense that allowed just three even-strength goals in a 7-6 win against Washington for the Mules' first-ever win vs. the Shoremen. He registered four ground balls and caused a turnover as the 'Berg defense held Washington under 11 goals for the first time in seven meetings.

Milic-Strkalj Finishes 5th in NCAA Mile
(March 13) - "Freshman Ivo Milic-Strkalj etched his name onto the long list of Haverford College track All-Americans Saturday afternoon with a fifth-place finish in the men's Mile race at the 2010 NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championship. Milic-Strkalj finished in a time of 4 minutes, 13.64 seconds. Event titlist Will Yochum of Amherst College clocked a 4:09.99 which is the fastest time run in the mile in all of D-III this season."

Faust Takes 6th in NCAA Pole Vault
(March 13) - "The trip to Greencastle, Ind., for the NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field Championships wasn't the smoothest for Alex Faust and the rest of the Muhlenberg travel party. After flying from Allentown to Detroit, the Mules had to endure more than three hours of delays before their plane took off for Indianapolis. At the meet, however, Faust had no trouble getting off the ground. Faust cleared 12-4 in the pole vault to tie for sixth place, earning All-America honors for the second time in her career."
