Western Maryland senior shortstop Jerry Resh (Hagerstown, Md./Williamsport), who won the CC batting title with a .492 average in 18 Conference games, was a first-team choice at shortstop and was also named the Conference's Player of the Year. Resh was second in the Conference in hits (30) and triples (4), while tying for fifth in RBI (20) and placing seventh in stolen bases (11). F&M sophomore right-hander Tim Sheridan (Downingtown, Pa./Downingtown) was named the Conference's Pitcher of the Year. He led the CC in wins (6-0) and ERA (1.60), while fanning 35 in 45 innings in the Conference.
The Diplomats were also represented on the first team by senior third baseman Eric Lanks (Pearl River, N.Y./Pearl River), senior outfielder Darren Maccanico (Spring Lake heights, N.J./Manasquan) and senior right-handed pitcher Bill Boyle (Pelham Manor, N.Y./Pelham Memorial). Lanks was third in the Conference in hitting (.426), while Maccanico was second in runs scored (25). Boyle was second to Sheridan in Conference ERA (1.71), while posting a 5-1 record. Senior shortstop Jesse Fluck (Lancaster, Pa./McCaskey) was named to the second team, while junior righty Brad Zerbe (Easthampton, N.J./Rancocas Valley) and outfielder Jamie McCall (Wilmington, Del./Brandywine) were honorable mention selections.
Johns Hopkins placed two infielders on the first unit in senior first baseman Colin Brazell (Schenectady, N.Y./Niskayuna) and sophomore second-sacker Aaron Bernstein (Pine Brook, N.J./Montville). Brazell led the CC in home runs (5), doubles (9) and total bases (52), while placing seventh with a .394 average. Bernstein hit .361 in CC play. Washington junior catcher Brian Rush (Seaford, Del./Seaford) rounded out the first-team infield.
Hopkins senior Joe Bushey (York, Pa./Central York) was the leading vote-getter among the outfielders, after hitting .407 and leading the Conference with 29 runs scored in CC games. Ursinus junior Dan Tomlinson (Aston, Pa./Archmere Academy) was fourth in hitting (.419) and was tied for second in steals (13). Junior teammate Aaron Rychling (Ashford, Conn./E.D. Smith) was the first-team designated hitter with a .350 average.
