  • Richter Named F&M Basketball Coach
    (August 5) - "Patricia S.W. Epps, Director of Athletics and Recreation announced Kirsten Richter as head women's basketball coach at Franklin & Marshall College. A 2003 graduate of F&M, Richter spent four seasons as an assistant coach with the Diplomats before joining the Randolph-Macon staff."

    Muhlenberg's McKeon Named Regional Player of the Year
    (March 17) - Muhlenberg junior guard Kelly McKeon, the Centennial Player of the Year, has been named the Mid-Atlantic Region Player of the Year by D3hoops.com. She averaged 13.1 points, 7.3 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 2.3 steals per game in leading the Mules to the CC final. Two other Conference players - Gettysburg's Caitlin Moser and Swarthmore's Kathryn Stockbower - were also named to the first team along with McKeon. Muhlenberg soph Alexandra Chili was named to the second team.

    Babson Ends Bullets' Sweet Run
    (March 12) - "Babson College picked up its second consecutive overtime victory in the NCAA Division III Tournament by scoring the final five points to edge Gettysburg College 71-68 inside LaFrak Gym on the campus of Amherst College Friday night. The loss caps a record-breaking season for the Bullets who close with a 24-5 overall mark. Junior Caitlin Moser (Wyomissing, Pa. / Wyomissing) led Gettysburg with 21 points, including the game-tying lay-up with 28 seconds left. Senior Courtney Fields (Baltimore, Md. / St. Paul's School for Girls) added 18 in her final collegiate contest, while sophomore Julie McGrory (Moorestown, N.J. / Moorestown) netted 15."

    (March 1) - McDaniel senior guard Ali Moreland has been named the Conference's Player of the Week. Moreland averaged 14.5 points and 5.0 rebounds as the Green Terror captured its fourth Centennial Conference championship. She tallied 16 points in the come-from-behind win over Gettysburg in the semifinals and netted 13 in the final at Muhlenberg.

    Green Terror Takes Home Trophy
    (February 28) - "Ashley Lyles (Laurel, Md. / St. Vincent Pallotti) led four McDaniel players in double figures with 15 to lead McDaniel to a 72-56 victory over No. 22 Muhlenberg in the 2010 Centennial Conference (CC) women's basketball championship game on Sunday. Ali Moreland (Davidsonville, Md. / South River) added 13 points while Sally Grace (Catonsville, Md. / Mount de Sales) chipped in 12 points for the Green Terror (20-6), who won 20 games for sixth time and first since 2006-07. With its fourth conference title - and first since 2005 - McDaniel earns the CC's automatic bid into the NCAA tournament, which begins on Friday."

    All-Conference Team Announced; Muhlenberg's Kelly McKeon Named Player of Year
    (February 23) - Muhlenberg junior guard Kelly McKeon was named the Conference's Player of the Year as the 2010 All-Centennial women's basketball team was announced today. McKeon becomes just the second Mule player to earn the award, following in the footsteps of Meghan Cortney in 2007. She is joined on the first team by teammate Alex Chili, along with McDaniel's Ali Moreland, Gettysburg's Caitlin Moser and Swarthmore's Kathryn Stockbower. Stockbower becomes just the ninth player in the Conference history to earn first-team All-Centennial honors three times.

    Top Moments of the Decade
    As we conclude our countdown of the top moments in Centennial women's basketball over the last decade, we list the top two moments as determined by the nearly 200 voters from 25 states who responded to our poll. Thanks for your participation.

    #1 - McDaniel's Kristy Costa converted a three-point play with :11 remaining to lift the Green Terror to a 59-57 victory over homestanding Johns Hopkins for the 2004 Centennial championship.

    #2 - Ursinus made history on its way to the 2007 Centennial championship, winning three games in five days for its second Conference title. The Bears posted a home win over Gettysburg in the first round, ended top-seeded McDaniel's 19-game win streak in the semifinals in Westminster, and defeated Dickinson for the championship.

    #3 - . The Mules went through the Conference regular season at 18-0 and knocked off McDaniel and Johns Hopkins to qualify for the NCAA tourney. One at the Big Dance, the Mules toppled Westfield State and Bowdoin to reach the Sweet 16.

    #4 - Muhlenberg scores a Conference-record 133 points in a 2004 game vs. Haverford in a game that broke two Division III records. #5 - Swarthmore's Ali Furman drains seven three-pointers in leading the Garnet to a 63-53 win over Johns Hopkins for Swarthmore's first Centennial title.

    #6 - Swarthmore's Kathryn Stockbower (pictured) sets a Conference record with 47 straight double-figure scoring performances.

    #7 - McDaniel wins 19 straight games in 2006-07. The Green Terror's streak was snapped by Ursinus in the 2007 Centennial semifinals.

    #8 - Swarthmore's Katie Robinson had one of the best single-game performances ever by a Centennial player, ripping the cords for 40 points in a win against Johns Hopkins that entered the game with a 17-4 record.

    #9 - Johns Hopkins' Kathy Darling scores 28 points and grabs 12 rebounds in the 2003 Centennial title game vs. McDaniel.

    #10 - Muhlenberg's Gwen Doyle made a three-pointer in 54 straight games from 2003-05 - the second-longest streak in Division III history at the time.
