  • McDaniel Rallies to Secure Bye
(February 9) - "Ali Moreland (Davidsonville, Md. / South River) made it back-to-back 20-point outings with a 22-point outburst in McDaniel's 59-54 Centennial Conference (CC) women's basketball victory at Haverford on Monday. Katelyn Fischer (Reisterstown, Md. / Seton Keough) added 13 points, including recording a steal and pair of free throws in the final 30 seconds, for the Green Terror (17-4, 15-2 CC), who secured a first-round bye in the upcoming CC tournament.

    Mules Hold Off Determined Dips
(February 9) - "She who laughs last, laughs best. Frustrated by Franklin & Marshall's close guarding of her the entire game, sophomore Alexandra Chili threw an elbow and was called for an offensive foul with 1:24 left and the score tied at 55, prompting the Diplomat defender to pump her fist. It was the other team doing the celebrating moments later. Chili's three-point play with 47.5 seconds to play proved to be the game-winner, as the Muhlenberg women's basketball team overcame its struggles to outlast F&M, 61-55."

    Weekly Release #10
(February 8) - Muhlenberg sophomore guard Alexandra Chili has been named the Conference's Player of the Week. Chili averaged 24.5 points in a 2-0 week, scoring 49 points in only 50 minutes of action. She netted 24 against Dickinson and 26 vs. Swarthmore, shooting 52.9 percent from the field and adding eight rebounds and three assists.

    Gettysburg Plows Past Ursinus
(February 8) - "In the wake of a major snowstorm that forced a slew of rescheduled contests across the nation, Gettysburg College and Ursinus College soldiered on in Bream Gym on Sunday. In an eerily similar outcome to the first meeting, the Bullets stifled the Bears in the second half en route to a 60-38 victory in Centennial Conference women's hoops action. Gettysburg (19-2, 14-2 CC) tied its third-best win total in school history and moved into a tie for first place in the CC with the victory."

    Dickinson Holds Off Owls, 60-54
(February 8) - "The Dickinson College women's basketball team held off a tenacious effort by Bryn Mawr to post a 60-54 win on Sunday afternoon. Carole Dempsey led the Devils with 21 points, seven rebounds and four steals. Alesha Sisco (pictured) posted a double-double with 17 points and 13 rebounds, including six on the offensive glass. Lindsay Darvin led the Owls (2-19, 0-17) with 22 points."

    WBCA Pink Zone Events
(February 2) - The WBCA Pink Zone® initiative is a global, unified effort for the Women's Basketball Coaches Association's (WBCA) nation of coaches to assist in raising breast cancer awareness on the court, across campuses, in communities and beyond. The 2009 campaign raised over $1.3 million, reached over 912,000 fans, unified more than 1,600 participating teams and organizations, and saw 56+ schools break attendance records at their event. The WBCA's charity of choice is the Kay Yow/WBCA Cancer Fund®, in partnership with The V Foundation. The WBCA strongly encourages all donations from Pink Zone games to be given to this Fund.
