About the Conference

The Centennial Conference is one of the premier small college conferences in the country - academically and athletically. Our institutions range in size from 1,168 to 5,110 students, while offering a range of 17 to 27 sports - among the highest in the nation. Academically, our members are among the most highly-regarded liberal arts colleges and universities in the country. Last year (2007-08), eight Centennial student-athletes were named to CoSIDA Academic All-America teams, while two were awarded NCAA Post-Graduate Scholarships. And more than 700 were named to the Conference's Academic Honor Roll, which recognizes students who have a 3.40 cumulative grade point average and have made a significant contribution to their athletic team(s).

Faculty Athletic Representatives

FARA is the Faculty Athletics Representatives Association, the professional association for faculty athletics representatives (FARs). FARA is the collective voice of faculty athletics representatives in all three NCAA divisions. It is FARA's role to advocate for faculty athletics representatives and to represent their concerns at the national level.

Rhodes Scholars
The Rhodes Scholarships were created by the will of British colonialist and statesman Cecil Rhodes, who died in 1902. His aim was to bring together young students with leadership potential from throughout the English-speaking world for advanced study at Oxford, personal development and exposure to cultures other than their own. He hoped, according to the Rhodes Scholarship Trust, to promote international understanding and peace. The selection criteria for Rhodes Scholars include intellectual achievement, concern for others, character, leadership potential, and "physical vigor." In all Rhodes Scholars are selected from 19 countries or regions of the world. The Centennial Conference has had one student-athlete receive a Rhodes Scholarship.
