1999 ALL-CENTENNIAL FIELD HOCKEY TEAM ANNOUNCED
Bullet Forward Steph Fisher Named Player of the Year
for Second Consecutive Year

LANCASTER, Pa. -- November 3, 1999 -- Gettysburg and Johns Hopkins, the 1999 Centennial Conference co-champions with 8-1 records, placed a combined 12 players on the 1999 All-Centennial Field Hockey teams which were announced today.

Bullet senior forward Steph Fisher (Lewisburg, PA / Lewisburg), a first-team all-CC selection, was also named the Conference's Player of the Year for the second year in a row in balloting conducted by the Conference's 10 head coaches. Fisher led the conference in scoring this year with 21 goals and seven assists for 49 points

Senior forward Amy Stambaugh (Lutherville, MD / Towson), senior midfielder Laura DeSario (East Setauket, NY / Ward Melville) and junior defender Megan Eddinger (Bally, PA / Boyertown) joined Fisher on the first team. DeSario and Eddinger were both first-team selections in 1998.

Junior midfielder Lauren Carney (Wilmington, DE / The Tatnall School), an honorable mention selection in 1998, leads the Johns Hopkins contingent on the first-team. Carney had nine goals and five assists for 23 points on the year. Joining Carney are two defenders and a midfielder. Senior back Jenny Silverman (Columbia, MD / Centennial) and junior goalkeeper Katie Reytar (Laurel, MD / Hammond) made the elite list along with senior middie Barbara Ordes (Fallston, MD / Fallston). Reytar allowed just six goals in 18 games and led the conference with a 0.33 goals against average.

Washington, which came in third in the conference standings, placed three players on the top squad for the second year in a row. Senior forward Christyl Arrabal (Chestertown, MD / Kent County) and senior defender Quincy Miles (Pocomoke, MD / Pocomoke) were honored on the first team for the third year in a row. Arrabal was second in the league in scoring with 12-11-35 in 18 games. Junior goalie Toby Wilmet (Dalton, PA / Lackawanna Trail) moved up to the top squad after being a second-team All-CC selection in 1998. She was third in the conference with a 0.99 goals against average.

Rounding out the first team was Swarthmore junior midfielder Kristen English (Plymouth Meeting, PA / Plymouth Whitemarsh). English led the Garnet with seven goals and five assists for 19 points on the year.
