Bullet Goalkeeper Andrew Barter Repeats as Player of the Year

LANCASTER, Pa. -- May 11, 2000 -- Gettysburg, which won its fifth Centennial championship in seven years, placed nine players on the 2000 All-Centennial Conference men's lacrosse team which was announced today.

Gettysburg senior goalkeeper Andrew Barter (North Brookfield, MA/Tabor Academy) was a first-team selection in goal and was also named the Conference's Player of the Year for the second straight season in balloting by the seven Conference head coaches. He led the Conference in goals against average (6.41) and had a 56.7 save percentage, becoming the first player to win back-to-back Centennial Player of the Year honors.

The Bullets, who are ranked second nationally with 14-1 record, finished 6-0 for the third straight year in the Conference. Joining Barter on the first team were sophomore attackman Pete Milliman (Rochester, NY / Canterbury, CT), senior midfielder Mark Pollak (Fairfax Station, VA / Lake Braddock), freshman long-stick midfielder Matt McMillen (Media, PA / Penncrest) and junior defenseman Mike Plantholt (Cockeysville, MD / Loyola-Blakefield). Also earning All-Conference recognition for the Bullets were sophomore attacker Ric Bremer (Ridgefield, CT / John Jay, NY), junior midfielder Tommy Pearce (Chestertown, MD/Woodberry Forest, VA), senior defender Adam Aiello (S. Setauket, NY / Ward Melville) on the second team, while senior attacker Ross Garretson (New Hope, PA / Germantown Academy) was honorable mention.

Radebaugh (Freeland, MD / Boys' Latin), a second-team choice last spring, who led the Shoremen in scoring (33-14-47). Senior middie Owen Mulhern (Havertown, PA / Trinity-Pawling, NY) joined Radebaugh on the elite midfield after registering 21-15-36, while senior defender Michael Kent (Alexandria, VA / St. Stephens & St. Agnes) led a Washington defense that permitted just 8.29 goals per game.
