	Lancaster, PA - May 5, 1998-- Johns Hopkins, which won the conference championship for the 
second consecutive year and the fourth time in five years with a perfect 10-0 conference record, 
placed six players on the 1998 All-Centennial Conference women's lacrosse team which was announced 
today.

	Johns Hopkins senior goalie Anita Patibandla (Canton, OH/Western Reserve) was a first-team 
selection for the third time and was named the ConferenceÕs Player of the Year in balloting by the 
ConferenceÕs 11 head coaches.  Patibandla allowed just 4.85 goals per game and maintained a 68.8 
save percentage to lead the conference in CC games this year and is the first netminder to win the 
annual Player of the Year award.  Junior Neda Dawood (Hudson, OH/Western Reserve) makes her second 
appearance on the first team, while sophomore Danielle Maschuci (Toms River, NJ/The Peddie School) 
moved up to the first unit after being a second-team choice in 1997.  Dawood posted 31 goals and 
four assists for 35 points in the CC this year, while Maschuci was second in the conference with 
34-22-56.  Senior Maria Fontoura (Fairfield, NJ/West Essex) and junior Mimi Sokolowski (Moorestown, 
NJ/ Moorestown) were both named first-team defenders.  Sokolowski was an honorable mention selection 
on attack in 1997.
	Franklin & Marshall and Ursinus both finished the regular season with 8-2 records and 
combined to put four players on the first team.  The Diplomats are represented by two-time All-CC 
first-teamer senior Kara Silberg (Baltimore, MD/Park School) and senior Amanda Roach (Gilbertsville, 
PA/ Boyertown), who was a second-team choice a year ago.  The BearsÕ potent offense was recognized 
by placing seniors Missy Myers (Lansdale, PA/Souderton), a two-time selection, and Kris Algeo 
(Havertown, PA/Sacred Heart Academy), a second-team selection from Ô97  Algeo led the conference in 
scoring with 35 goals and 19 assists for 54 points in 10 league games, while Myers had 32-11-43.

	SwarthmoreÕs Holly Baker (Media, PA/Penncrest) and Haverford sophomore Lindsey Carey 
(Towson, MD/Towson) round out the first-team attack.  Baker had 40-10-50 in CC games this year, 
while Carey had 34-10-44 in the league.

	Gettysburg senior Kristen Sullivan (Philadelphia, PA/Archbishop Wood) was the top 
vote-getter among the defensive nominees.  She earns first-team honors for the second consecutive 
year.  Western MarylandÕs Natalie Hannibal (Sykesville, MD/Liberty) moved up to the first team after 
being an honorable mention in 1997.
