Lancaster, PA - May 4, 1999-- Ursinus, which won the conference championship for
the second time in four years, placed six players on the 1999 All-Centennial
Conference women's lacrosse team which was announced today.
Franklin & Marshall senior attacker Sarah Reigner (Palm, PA/Upper Perkiomen) was a
unanimous first-team selection and was named the Conference's Player of the
Year in balloting by the league's 10 head coaches. Reigner led her team with 56
goals and 19 assists for 75 points overall and had 34-12-46 in Centennial games.
Leading Ursinus on the first squad is junior attacker Taryn Brackin (Lower Gwynedd, PA/
Wissahickon) and senior defender Jacqueline Colvin (Media, PA/Villa Maria Academy). Brackin
had 27-12-39 overall this year, while Colvin anchored the Bears' defense which
allowed just 63 conference goals in nine games.
Washington and Gettysburg both finished with 6-3 conference records and combined to place
three players on the elite list. Gettysburg junior Amy Stambaugh (Lutherville, MD/Towson)
was named to the first-team attack after she led the Bullets with 56-13-69. Washington's defense was honored with the placement of senior defender Mandy Pare
(Colora, MD/Perryville) and junior goalkeeper Sarah Moore (Chestertown, MD/Kent County).
Arch rivals Haverford and Swarthmore saw two players each make the first team
All-Conference. Garnet senior attacker Holly Baker (Media, PA/Penncrest) got the nod at
attack for the second consecutive year, while sophomore defender Kristen English
(Norristown, PA/Plymouth-Whitemarsh) earns top honors for the first year. The Fords'
junior attacker Lindsey Carey (Towson, MD/Towson), already the team's all-time leading
scorer with 158 career points, and senior defender Jessica Hurt
(Lexington, MA/Lexington) were also named to the top squad.
Muhlenberg senior Katie Kenny (Chatham, NJ/Chatham) and Western Maryland senior Natalie
Hannibal (Sykesville, MD/Liberty) round out the attack and defense, respectively.
Kenny was a second-team All-Conference selection in 1998, while Hannibal
makes her second consecutive appearance on the first team.
