Hoffman Steps Down as Men's Soccer Coach at Washington

Washington College head men's soccer coach Drew Hoffman has been offered and has accepted a position as a development officer within the College's Office of Advancement. Hoffman will step down from his current position as head coach effective March 19th.

Hoffman was named the 10th head coach in the history of the program in the summer of 2006. During his tenure, he guided the Shoremen to their first-ever win over Muhlenberg and an upset of nationally-ranked Johns Hopkins.  

"We appreciate the hard work Coach Hoffman has put into the soccer program over the past six years and will miss him in our department," notes Athletic Director Dr. Bryan Matthews. "Our institution, however, will be fortunate to have Drew as a Development Officer and he will no doubt excel in his new role."

Hoffman will accompany the team on its upcoming Spring Break trip to Spain.  Assistant coaches Peter Kaminskas and Briggs Cunningham will then take over the daily coaching duties for the remainder of the spring practice season.  The College will launch a national search for Hoffman's replacement this spring.  In the interim, Hoffman will continue to head up the team's recruiting efforts.
