Washington College senior men's soccer player Tim Marcin was named the recipient of the Sophie Kerr Literary Prize - the nation's largest undergraduate literary prize which is valued this year at $61,192.

Corrieri Named McDaniel Men's Soccer Coach
Stephen Corrieri has been named McDaniel College's head men's soccer coach, announced by Director of Athletics Paul Moyer on Wednesday. Corrieri has spent the last six seasons as an assistant coach at York (Pa.).

374 Named to Academic Honor Roll
The 2012 Centennial Conference Fall Academic Honor Roll recognizes 374 students for their performance in the classroom and as a member of a varsity team. Forty-six students also earned All-Centennial recognition, while one of those was the Conference Runner of the Year.

Haverford, Swarthmore Advance to NCAA Second Round
Haverford and Swarthmore used different routes to advance to the second round of the NCAA Division III men's soccer tournament on Saturday. The Fords needed PKs to get past Wesleyan, while Swarthmore used three second-half goals to subdue Albertus Magnus.

The three first-round byes for next week's Conference tournament were locked up after tonight's results. Swarthmore, Dickinson and Haverford all posted shutout wins to advance to the final four. Franklin & Marshall and Johns Hopkins registered victories to move closer to the final berths.

Gettysburg scored twice in the final 10 minutes to win its first Conference match of the season, defeating homestanding Haverford, 2-1. Dickinson christened its brand-new Miller Field with a win over Johns Hopkins, while Franklin & Marshall blanked Muhlenberg. Swarthmore kept rolling with a win vs. Ursinus, while Washington College defeated McDaniel for the first time since 2003.
