Saturday's Men's Swimming Recap
GETTYSBURG, Pa. – Dickinson earned four gold medals Saturday during the second day of the 2012 Centennial Conference Men's Swimming Championship, breaking records in two of the four events.
Jason Adams was included in three of those gold medals, winning the 100 fly (49.50), 100 back (48.72) and swimming the lead leg in the victorious 200 MR (Barnard, Yocum, Murray) with a time of 1:32.38. Adams' 100 back time was an NCAA DIII A qualifying time and set a new Conference, championship and pool record, which was set by the sophomore just yesterday. The 200 MR also set a new Conference and championship record.
Along with Adams, Sophomore Ed Barnard picked up some hardware Saturday for the Red Devils, grabbing the top time in the 100 breast (57.67) and swimming the second leg in the record-setting 200 MR.
Gettysburg's 800 free relay (Potter, Leyens, Staerk, Libby) finished the night with a bold statement, setting a new Conference and championship record with a time of 6:51.42. The Bullets previously held both records, which were achieved last year at the Conference Championship (6:54.09).
