Two Centennial Athletes Named to Capital One Academic All-America Men's Track/XC Team

To place in the decathlon at the Centennial Conference Championships, Michael Baer needed to master several disciplines. He also needed to do that to earn Academic All-America honors.

Baer was selected to the Capital One NCAA Division III Academic All-America Men's Track/Cross Country first team, as chosen by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

Baer, a second-team Academic All-American last year, is the second two-time Academic All-American in the history of the Muhlenberg track and field program, joining former teammate and three-time honoree Bobby Torphy '11. Rising senior Brad Wiseman of the Gettysburg College men's track & field team has been named to the Capital One Academic All-America Division III Track & Field/Cross Country Third Team, as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

Wiseman becomes the 19th Academic All-American in school history and the third this season, joining Larry DelViscio '13 of the football team and Adrienne Rahs '12 of the softball squad. He is also the third Academic All-American in program history; Tyler Kreitz '09 was a second-team selection in 2009 while Greg Cumming '09 captured third-team recognition in 2008.

Wiseman was one of 45 student-athletes to earn Division III men's track & field/cross country Academic All-America honors and one of just two from the Centennial Conference, as Michael Baer of Muhlenberg College was selected to the first team.  Complete Story
