Three straight fourth-inning bunts from No. 1 Emory led to a three-run inning and a 4-1 victory over McDaniel in the first round of the 2012 NCAA Division III softball regional on Thursday. With the loss, McDaniel is relegated to the elimination bracket and will play the Messiah at 10 a.m. on Friday.

Muhlenberg sophomore 1B Kelly Kline and McDaniel freshman RHP Caroline Brehm were named the Player and Pitcher of the Year, respectively, as the 2012 All-Centennial Conference softball team was released Tuesday.

McDaniel defeated Washington College, 9-0, in six innings to earn the 2012 Centennial Conference title. The Shorewomen downed Gettysburg, 2-0, in the first game of the day.
