Friday's Women's Hoop Recap

Latisha Pledger, Washington College

Washington College 74, St. John Fisher 63
Sophomore forward/center Latisha Pledger (Chesapeake, VA/Indian River) scored 15 points and brought down a career-best 15 rebounds as the Washington College women's basketball team defeated St. John Fisher, 74-63, in the first round of the Catholic University of America Holiday Tournament this afternoon in Washington, DC. Pledger was one of two Shorewomen to record a double double in the game as Erin Fitzgerald added 14 points, 10 rebounds, and three blocked shots.

FDU-Florham 84, Ursinus 82
The Ursinus College women's basketball team dropped its second game of the weekend, falling to FDU-Florham in overtime by a score of 84-82 in the consolation game of the Coaches Versus Cancer Classic held at York College (Pa.). The Bears (4-6) placed five players in double digits, with senior guard Kristy George (Whitehall, Pa./Whitehall), leading the Bears with 21 points.  Senior forward Lindsay Teuber (Philadelphia, Pa./St. Basil's), netted 14 points and grabbed 13 rebounds, while sophomore guard Diamond Lewis (East Windsor, N.J./Stuart Country Day) added 14 points of her own. For her efforts, Lewis was named to the all-tournament team. The Bears also got 11 points from senior guard Jen Sroba (Newtown, Pa./Council Rock North), with senior guard Alli Rosati (Jamison, Pa./Central Bucks East) scoring ten points.
