Meghan Tait, Washington College
Senior, Guard, Oxford, PA / Oxford HS

Bauer averaged 16.0 points, 5.0 rebounds and 3.5 assists in a 2-0 week, shooting 50  percent from the field (13-of-26) and 66.7 percent from beyond the arc (6-of-9). Tait had a superb all-around week, averaging 12.0 points,  9.5 rebounds, 6.5 assists and 4.5 steals in a pair of victories.

A PLAYOFF PRIMER

The top three seeds for the championship are set. Johns Hopkins is the top seed and will host the semifinals and final next Friday and Saturday in Baltimore. Franklin & Marshall and Muhlenberg will be the next two seeds in some order and will meet in one semifinal. Ursinus needs a win at home against the Mules to lock up the #4 seed and the right to host the #5 seed in a first-round game on Wednesday. A loss opens the door for Haverford to sneak in and take the 4-spot with a win at Swarthmore. Losses by both gives the Bears the #4 seed and brings Washington College back into the picture. The Shorewomen need a win at home against Bryn Mawr and a Gettysburg win at McDaniel to force a three-way tiebreaker with the Bullets and Haverford. That tiebreaker favors Washington College with a 3-1 record against the other two. A Haverford-Washington tie favors the Fords, who split the season set with the Shorewomen but swept first-place Johns Hopkins.

Around the Conference (2/13)

Bryn Mawr

Sophomore Nicolette Parmese (Levittown, NY / Division) continues to shine, averaging 17 points per outing in three games. She is averaging a double-double on the season at 15.5 points and 10.7 rebounds per contest and has scored in double figures in 19 of the Owls' 22 games.

Dickinson

The Red Devils snapped a 14-game losing streak with a big win at Bryn Mawr. First-year Liz Schultz (Dunmore, PA / Scranton Prep) scored a career-high 18 points on 8-of-11 shooting.  Junior Bridget Borgese (Swarthmore, PA / Notre Dame de Namur) added 17 points and is averaging 14.0 points per game over her last five contests.

Franklin & Marshall

The Diplomats clinched a playoff berth with a pair of victories. Senior Allison Bauer (Lancaster, PA / Conestoga Valley) led the way with 19 points vs. Swarthmore. She is shooting 50.0 percent (10-of-20) from beyond the arc during the Dips' five-game win streak. It is the fourth time since 1994 that an F&M team has won as many as 17 games.

Gettysburg

The Bullets went 0-2 last week despite holding their opponents to 54.5 points and 32.5 percent shooting. Gettysburg has held 19 of 23 opponents under 40 percent this season and was ranked 15th in DIII in field-goal percentage defense. Senior Sara Kinsley (Fairfield, CT / Fairfield Ludlowe) had a big game vs. Washington with 10 points, 15 rebounds, six blocks and four assists.

Haverford

The Fords' magic number for clinching their first-ever Centennial playoff berth is one after a 1-1 week. Haverford needs a win at home vs. Muhlenberg or at Swarthmore to lock up the fifth and final spot, or get losses by Gettysburg and Washington College. Junior Calla Miller (Jamison, PA / Central Bucks South) surpassed the 200-assist mark for her career vs. Ursinus (201).

Johns Hopkins

The Blue Jays secured a first-round playoff bye with a win over Ursinus. Hopkins can clinch the regular-season title and home court for the Conference tournament with a win against F&M on Tuesday. Junior Alex Vassila (Potomac, MD / Winston Churchill) scored 16 points to go along with 16 rebounds and five blocks for her eighth double-double of the season. Over the last four games, she is shooting 66.7 percent (24-of-36) from the field, averaging 14.0 points and 11.8 caroms per contest.

McDaniel

The Green Terror stunned 22nd ranked Johns Hopkins as freshman Emma Wingerd (Pittsburgh, PA / North Hills) scored on a put-back at the buzzer for a one-point win. She averaged 11.7 points, 5.7 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 2.7 blocked shots per game in a 1-2 week. Freshman Steph Perez (Harrisburg, PA / Central Dauphin East) has scored in double figures in all 21 of her games this season.

Muhlenberg

The Mules qualified for the Centennial tournament for the seventh straight season with a win vs. McDaniel. Senior Alexandra Chili (Rockville, MD / Walter Johnson) finished with 18 points and a career-high 15 rebounds and is now in sole possession of 11th place on the DIII career three-pointer list (317). The 'Berg class of 2012 now has 88 career wins – third-best in program history.

Swarthmore

The Garnet's losing skid hit five games last week. Freshman Elle Larsen (Perkasie, PA / Hempfield) has scored in double figures in nine of her last 10 games and leads the CC in field goal percentage (50.9). Swarthmore shot 40 percent over its first eight games in 2011, but is struggling at just 32 percent over 14 games in 2012.

Ursinus

The Bears are back in the Conference playoffs for the second straight season – the first time Ursinus teams have done that since a run of five consecutive years from 1994-98. Sophomore Diamond Lewis (East Windsor, NJ / Stuart Country Day) is averaging 14.3 points over her last three games. Senior Lindsay Teuber (Philadelphia, PA / St. Basil's) is the 29th player in CC history to collect 750 career rebounds.

Washington College

The Shorewomen clinched their first winning record since 1998-99 (15-9) with the win at Swarthmore. Washington's win at Gettysburg was its first road win over the Bullets since 1996 and gave the team its first-ever season sweep of the Orange and Blue. Senior Meghan Tait (Oxford, PA / Oxford) broke the program record for career free throws made (310). Senior Sally O'Donnell (Cape May Court House, NJ / Wildwood Catholic) scored her 1,000th collegiate point in the win vs. the Garnet. She has 990 at Washington College and 33 at St. Thomas Aquinas, where she played the 2008 fall semester.
