Tuesday's Women's Lax Recap

Stephanie Seibert, Washington College

Washington College 9, Swarthmore 6
Junior goalie Stephanie Seibert (Clear Spring, MD/Mercersburg Academy [PA]) made 11 saves as host Washington College posted a 9-6 Centennial Conference women's lacrosse victory over visiting Swarthmore tonight on Kibler Field at Roy Kirby, Jr. Stadium. The Shorewomen improved to 9-5 overall and 5-3 in conference play with the win, clinching their first winning record in Centennial games since finishing the 2004 season at 6-3 in the conference. Corinne Ziccardi and sophomore midfielder Carly Eisenbrandt (Baltimore, MD/Towson) joined Liza Twilley with two goals each for Washington. Annalise Penikis led the Garnet with four tallies.

Neumann 18, Bryn Mawr 13
Seniors Natalie Chrismer and Miranda Gordon-Zigel combined for nine of Bryn Mawr’s 13 goals Tuesday night on the road in non-league action against Neumann University. The Knights scored seven second-half goals to earn the tightly contested 18-13 win. Gordon-Zigel led the Owls with four goals and three assists, eight draws and eight ground balls. In addition to Chrismer’s five goals, she won two draws and was a perfect 2-for-2 from the 8-meter line.
