Three Earn All-America Honors at NCAA Championship
Stevens' Joey Favia, Hopkins' Paul Bewak and Reid Mosquera each earned All-America honors at the NCAA Division III wrestling championships this weekend in La Crosse, Wis. Here are all the links action from the weekend.

Winter All-Sportsmanship Team
The Centennial Conference Student-Athlete Advisory Committee established the All-Sportsmanship team in 2007. Each team elected one member from their team who displayed good sportsmanship throughout the season to be a member of the All-Centennial sportsmanship team.

All-Conference Wrestling Team
The 2012 Centennial Conference wrestling team was released today. Johns Hopkins dominated the 10-man first team with five selections. Blue Jay head coach Keith Norris was named Coach of the Year, while Gettysburg freshman 165 Zach Thomson is the Wrestler of the Year.

Johns Hopkins Wins First-Ever CC Wrestling Title
Johns Hopkins won five individual gold medals on its way to its first-ever Centennial wrestling championship Saturday at Gettysburg. Stevens' Joey Favia was named the Most Outstanding Wrestler.

There are some wrestlers who are known around the country. And there are those who will try and join that group over the next three weeks. By the time competition concludes this weekend, 160 student-athletes through nine qualifiers at the Division III level will have punched their tickets to the 2012 Division III Championships in La Crosse, Wis., on March 9-10.

Former Ursinus College wrestler Dan Glover '12 passed away on Monday from injuries sustained in a car accident last week. He was a bronze medalist at 141 at the 2010 Centennial championship and had recently completed his degree in Exercise and Sports Science.

Former Division II All-American Brian Burzynski has been hired as head wrestling coach by Muhlenberg. Burzynski is a 2002 graduate of Kutztown University, where he was a three-time NCAA Tournament qualifier.

Hopkins Takes Oneonta Title
The Johns Hopkins wrestling team made a big early-season statement on Saturday as the Blue Jays accumulated 134 points to win Oneonta's Red Dragon Invitational for the first time in school history. The Blue Jays grabbed three individual titles and had 12 wrestlers place in the top six to earn the championship in the 10-team field.

Dormann Takes 174 at Parker
Behind sophomore Ryan Dormann, the Stevens Institute of Technology wrestling team put together a strong showing at the Doug Parker Invitational hosted by Springfield College, placing 11th with 58.5 points. SUNY Brockport took home top honors with 102.5 points, followed by Centenary College (96) and Springfield (87.5) in second and third-place, respectively.

Connell Pins Way to 285 Title
On Saturday, the United States Merchant Marine Academy wrestling squad placed eighth at the Doug Parker Wrestling Tournament at the Springfield College Field House in Springfield, Mass. Senior Judd Connell won the tournament at heavyweight by pinning a trio of wrestlers including the two-time 197-pound NCAA runner-up Ryan Malo from Williams College.

The Gettysburg College wrestling team won five of the final six matches to defeat the University of Scranton 24-18 in its dual match opener on Wednesday. Gettysburg (1-0) won its dual opener for the first time since defeating Elizabethtown College 24-23 to start the 2000-01 campaign.

It wasn’t exactly a good omen for the 2009-10 Muhlenberg wrestling team when Bill Sholly, one of only five returning starters on an extremely young team, went down with a season-ending injury during the third week of practice. The wrestling website "D3wrestle.com" has released its 2011 preliminary rankings and the Centennial Conference has seven wrestlers represented on the lists. Heading the group is Merchant Marine 165-pounder Vincent Renaut (pictured), who captured the Centennial's first-ever national championship last winter. Stevens' Joe Favia is 10th at 165. Teammate Bobby Bishop is 10th at 174, while Ursinus' Nate Murren and the Ducks' Ryan Dormann are 7-8 at 184. The Bears' Connor McNamara comes in #8 at 197, while McDaniel 285 Brock Glotfelty was ranked third.
