Hopkins Vanquishes Vassar to Advance to National Quarterfinals
The 10th-ranked Johns Hopkins women's tennis beat 24th-ranked Vassar, 5-0, in the NCAA Sweet 16 Sunday afternoon at the University of Mary Washington Outdoor Courts. The win improves the Blue Jays' record to 18-5 on the season and sends them to the NCAA Quarterfinals for the first time in program history.

Hopkins Hammers Hunter to Reach Sweet 16 Again

Centennial Players Ranked in Region
The Centennial Conference has five of the top 13 singles players and two of the top eight doubles in the Atlantic South region as the ITA released its preseason rankings. Team rankings were unavailable due to an insufficient number of dual match results.

Warren Falls in ITA Final
Johns Hopkins' Carolyn Warren was defeated by Carnegie Mellon's Laura Chen, 6-2, 6-2, in the final of the ITA Southeast Regional women's singles championship. Warren, the No. 2 seed, reached the final with a 6-1, 3-6, 6-1 victory over #3 Courtney Chin of CMU, while Chen defeated JHU teammate Nandita Krishnan, 1-6, 6-2, 6-2, to reach the title match. Elsewhere, the Conference also produced singles champions in the following flights - Hopkins' Yoko Hirase (Blue 1) and Brook Pottish (Blue 2B), and Swarthmore's Katie Samuelson (Blue 2A). Pottish and teammate Lauren Fields won the Blue 1 doubles flight, while Samuelson teamed with Stephanie Chia to take the Blue 2 flight.
