Hopkins Opens NCAA Play
BALTIMORE, MD – After winning the Centennial Conference Championship for the first time in program history, the Johns Hopkins volleyball team has been placed in the Christopher Newport Regional for the opening round of the 2011 NCAA Volleyball Tournament.
The Blue Jays are currently 25-4 on the season and compiled a perfect 10-0 Centennial record for the first time in program history.
Hopkins will face Randolph-Macon in the opening round of the regional tournament. The Yellow Jackets won the Old Dominion Athletic Conference Title and have a 23-5 overall record. Hopkins leads Randolph-Macon 3-1 in the all time series and defeated the Yellow Jackets 3-0 last time the two teams met in 2006.
The other teams in the Christopher Newport Regional include host, Christopher Newport, Emory, Richard Stockton, Salisbury, Gallaudet and Maryville (TN).
