Dickinson's Ludman Named Mideast Region Runner of the Year

USTFCCCA release

Dickinson College sophomore Taylor Ludman (Willow Street, Pa./Solanco) was named the NCAA Mideast Region Women's Cross Country Runner of the Year. The award is presented by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.

Ludman had an outstanding season, capturing both the Centennial Conference individual title and the Mideast Regional championship. She overcame heavy snow and a driving blizzard to become just the third sophomore in conference history to win a Centennial title and be named the Conference Runner of the Year.

Ludman finished as one of the team's top two runners all season, placing second overall at the Little Three Championship. She placed third in a trial run for Regionals at the DeSales Invitational before capturing the championship on the same course just over a month later.

Ludman and the Red Devils placed second in the team standings at the Regional Championships, following a third place finish at the Centennial Conference meet. Dickinson made a remarkable 11th consecutive appearance at the NCAA National Championships, capturing an unprecedented 18th straight Little Three Title this season.

Johns Hopkins' Bobby Van Allen was named the Mideast Region Coach of the Year, while Haverford's Tom Donnelly earned the award on the men's side.
