  • 53 Named to Winter Academic Honor Roll
    (April 2) - Two-hundred thirty-four students from seven different winter, including 53 men's track and field athletes, have been named to the Centennial Conference Winter Academic Honor Roll. To be nominated for the Centennial Conference Academic Honor Roll, a student must meet the following criteria: (a) participates in at least 50 percent of contests, matches or meets, or in the Conference varsity championship in swimming, indoor track & field or wrestling; (b) a sophomore or higher in class standing; (c) cumulative GPA of 3.40 or higher. Three students also received All-Conference recognition during the season - Haverford's Taylor Burmeister and Daniel O'Toole, and Muhlenberg's Bobby Torphy.

    Thomas Finishes 3rd in NCAA Long Jump
    (March 14) - "Both Jessie Belden and Chaz Thomas of the Haverford College indoor track & field teams garnered All-American honors for their performances on Friday at the NCAA Championships held at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology. Belden finished second in the pentathlon and Thomas took third in the long jump. Thomas earned All-America status for the second time (first indoor) with a leap of 7.08 (23-2 3/4) in the long jump.

    Hendrix Captures NCAA Pole Vault Silver Medal
    (March 14) - Dickinson senior Stephen Hendrix cleared 16-1 3/4 to capture the silver medal in the pole vault at the 2009 NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field championship Saturday at Rose-Hulman. Hendrix trailed only North Central's Jake Winder who cleared 17-1 1/2 to take the gold.

    Another Sweep for Ford Track
    (March 1) - For the fourth straight year, the Haverford men's and women's teams captured the Centennial Conference indoor championship. The Class of 2009 made it a complete sweep as the men defeated runner-up Ursinus, 150-101, while the women outpointed Johns Hopkins, 162-134.5. David Chorney of Muhlenberg and Chaz Thomas of Haverford were the men's Outstanding Track and Outstanding Field Performers, respectively. Ursinus' Christa Johnson was named the Outstanding Track Performer, winning the mile, the 3K and 5K, while Haverford's Jessie Belden was the Outstanding Field Performer, capturing the high and long jumps.

    Mansuy Named Track Athlete of Week
    (February 17) - Dickinson's Mike Mansuy has been selected as the Conference's Men's Indoor Track and Field Athlete of the Week. Mansuy broke the school record in the 600 meters with a winning time of 1:24.51. He also added a win with the 4x400 relay that posted the third-best time in the CC this season (3:30.88), leading the Red Devils to the team title at Dickinson Valentine's Day Invitational.
