Lister Named Volleyball/Softball Coach at Washington
(December 5) - Washington College Athletic Director Dr. Bryan Matthews
has announced the hiring of Lacey Lister as the
school's new head
volleyball and softball coach. A four-time Division III All-American,
Lister is no stranger to the Eastern Shore as she hails from nearby Denton
and attended North Caroline High School before traveling down the shore to
play and coach at Salisbury University.

Fall Academic Honor Roll Announced
(November 18) - Three-hundred four students have been named to the
2008 Centennial Conference Fall Academic Honor Roll for their performance in the classroom and on the field of play. Fifty-seven of the honorees
also received All-Conference recognition this fall, while three students - Ursinus' Jennie Moore, Johns Hopkins' Matt Carlson and Dickinson's Sarah Casey - earned Player of the Year honors.

Salvos Named All-Region
(November 18) - Juniors Rachel and Rebecca Salvo of the Haverford College volleyball team were named to the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Division III
All-Mid-Atlantic Region team. Rebecca was named first-team, while Rachel received honorable mention.

Fredonia Foils Haverford in NCAAs
(November 13) - In a thrilling five-set match the Haverford College volleyball team showed its grit and determination by coming back from down 2-0 to force a fifth set winner take all against Fredonia State in the
first round of the NCAA Regional at Union College on Thursday afternoon. Fredonia State prevailed, 3-2 (25-21, 25-22, 18-25, 21-25, 15-11), in a match that had 26 tied score and 10 lead changes.

All-Conference Volleyball Team Released; Haverford's Rebecca Salvo Named Player of Year
(November 11) - Three-time defending champion Haverford placed two players on the first team as the
2008 All-Centennial Conference team was released Tuesday.
Ford junior Rebecca Salvo kept it in the family as she was selected as the Player of the Year in balloting by the CC's 11 head coaches. Her sister, Rachel, won the award last season and was also a first-team choice with her sibling.

Three-Peat for Fords Volleyball
(November 9) - The Haverford College volleyball team made it a three-peat on Sunday by winning its third consecutive Centennial Conference Championship with a 3-1 (17-25, 25-19, 25-17, 25-19) victory over No. 1 seed Gettysburg College. No. 2 seed Haverford came back from a first set lost to win the last three sets.
The championship establishes Haverford as the second school in the Centennial Conference to win at least three consecutive conference titles. Gettysburg accomplished the feat from 1995-98 and 2001-05.

Hopkins' Jackanich Heads Quartet Named to Academic All-District Volleyball Team
(November 7) - Johns Hopkins senior hitter Kim Jackanich heads a quartet
of Centennial Conference players that were named to the CoSIDA Academic
All-District volleyball team that was announced today. Jackanich, who
has a 3.85 GPA in international relations, was the lone CC player named
to the second unit. Teammates Allison Cappeleare and Adrienne Young were
named to the third team along with Muhlenberg's Danielle Losonci.

Weekly Release #10
(November 4) - Gettysburg's Kate Yoder was selected as the Conference's Player of the Week. She averaged 3.71 kills and hit .431 in a 2-0 week. Yoder had 10
kills vs. Dickinson and a career-high 16 vs. Muhlenberg.

Digging For a Cure
The Centennial Conference women's volleyball athletes and coaches joined together for the third straight year to raise money for Breast Cancer research. The teams will use the dig totals from selected matches to raise money for Living Beyond Breast Cancer (LBBC). LBBC offers various programs to help those fighting the disease and also provides information and support for family and friends. If you are interested in donating, please contact a team member or the head coach. The dates that the teams chose to use its dig totals for this worthy cause:
- October 4 - Bryn Mawr (47), Johns Hopkins (103)
- October 9 - Muhlenberg (64), Washington (45)
- October 11 - Dickinson (75), Swarthmore (94)
- October 18 - Franklin & Marshall (29), Haverford (29)
- October 22 - Gettysburg (95), McDaniel (79), Ursinus (58)
